What coaching gives you
that a course can't.
A course teaches you the knowledge. Coaching teaches you what to do with it — in your practice, on your files, for your goals.
It's about your goals, not a syllabus
Every session is shaped by what you want to achieve. Your volume, your deals, your market, your career path. No fixed curriculum. Pure focus on what gets you where you want to go.
Ask any question — get a real answer
In a course, you absorb knowledge. In coaching, you get answers to the exact questions your deals are throwing at you right now. That's a completely different kind of learning.
Accountability drives results
Most agents know what they should be doing. Coaching is the mechanism that ensures they do it. Between sessions, you have commitments, a plan and someone who will ask about your progress next time.
Coached by someone who's done it at the highest level.
Coaching at Skayle Academy is delivered personally by our founder — a top Canadian mortgage professional with deep experience across residential lending, private markets, commercial mortgages and brokerage growth.
We've trained and mentored top mortgage agents and professionals across Canada — from brand-new agents who needed a real starting point to experienced brokers who wanted to break through volume ceilings and into new markets. The results speak: higher volume, better deals, better careers.
If you want to be the best in this industry, you need to learn from someone who's been there. That's what this is.
What students say
after working with us.
Real results from real mortgage professionals we've mentored across Canada.
I was doing $8M a year and couldn't figure out why I wasn't growing. Six months of coaching and I hit $19M. The referral strategy we built together was the single biggest change in my career. I still follow the plan we made in session one.
I wanted to get a job at a lender as an underwriter but didn't know where to start. Three coaching sessions and I knew exactly what to study, how to present myself and who to talk to. I was hired within two months. Worth every penny.
I took the crash course in private lending and immediately started closing deals I used to send to other agents. The session was intense in the best way — practical, fast and directly applicable. I closed my first private deal the following week.
I was brand new and didn't want to spend a year figuring out what top agents already know. The mentorship program fast-tracked everything. I understood underwriting, lender relationships, how to get referrals — all in my first 90 days. Unreal value.
Group coaching was exactly what I needed — affordable, focused and still personal. Six people in the session but every question was relevant to my practice. Learned as much from the other agents' questions as my own. Highly recommend it for anyone starting out.
I tried coaching with another program before Skayle. This is completely different. No generic scripts, no copy-paste framework. Every session was built around what I was actually doing. If you want real results, this is it.

Coaching FAQ
Everything you need to know before booking.
Still have a question? Book a call →What is mortgage coaching at Skayle Academy?
Mortgage coaching at Skayle Academy is personal, goal-focused sessions — 1-on-1, small group or crash course format — with an experienced Canadian mortgage professional. Sessions are built around your goals: growing your business, landing a new role, adding new deal types to your practice or getting up to speed quickly. It is not a course — it is direct, applied guidance built around your career.
Can coaching really help me earn more as a mortgage agent?
Yes. Our coaching clients consistently report significant growth in mortgage volume and income within 3–6 months. Coaching identifies the specific gaps in your referral network, your conversion process, your lender relationships and your deal quality — and builds a real plan to fix them. Most agents have the capability; coaching provides the strategy and accountability to act on it.
How is 1-on-1 mentorship different from group coaching?
1-on-1 mentorship is entirely focused on your specific goals, your files and your challenges. Every minute is about you. Group coaching is a small-group format (max 6) where structured topics are covered and Q&A is shared across the group. Group coaching is more affordable and allows you to learn from other agents' questions and situations. Both are highly effective — it depends on what you need right now.
What is a mortgage crash course?
A mortgage crash course is an intensive, focused training session on one specific topic — mortgage underwriting, private lending, commercial mortgages or agent business development. It is designed for professionals who need to get up to speed quickly without working through a full multi-week course. Sessions are available 1-on-1 or in a small group and can be tailored to your exact knowledge gaps.
Can mentorship help me get a job at a lender?
Yes. We offer targeted mentorship for agents and professionals looking to move into underwriting or other lender-side roles. Sessions focus on the knowledge, positioning and approach needed to land roles at banks, MFCs, credit unions and private lenders in Canada. Many of our mentored students have successfully made this transition.
Are sessions online? Can I access coaching from anywhere in Canada?
Yes. All coaching and mentorship sessions are delivered online via video call. You can access coaching from anywhere in Canada — Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Nova Scotia or any other province. No travel, no commute. Just focused sessions at a time that works for you.
Do I need to take a course before coaching?
No. Coaching is available as a standalone service. However, combining course knowledge with coaching is one of the most powerful combinations — you build structured knowledge through the course and apply and accelerate it through coaching. Many of our highest-achieving students do both.
How do I book and what happens next?
Fill out the form on this page. Tell us your goals and preferred format (1-on-1, group or crash course). Our team will follow up within one business day to discuss and schedule your first session. There is no obligation — we want to make sure coaching is the right fit for your goals before you commit.
Frequently asked questions
What happens in a coaching session?
Sessions are 60 minutes, one-on-one with a senior mortgage professional. You bring a file, a challenge, or a specific area you want to grow in — and we work through it together. No slides, no theory. Just direct feedback from someone who has worked the files.
Who are the coaches?
Our coaching team includes mortgage agents with 10+ years of production experience, former lender underwriters, and licensed brokers who have built and managed their own teams. Every coach is vetted for both technical knowledge and ability to communicate clearly to agents at different stages.
How many sessions will I need?
Most agents see meaningful change in 3–6 sessions. Some issues — a specific file challenge or a single skill gap — can be addressed in one session. Others — building a referral system, transitioning to commercial files — take more time. We don't lock you into packages; book as many as you need.
Can I bring a real active file?
Yes — and we encourage it. Working through a live file is one of the fastest ways to learn. We'll review the file together, identify the risks, and talk through how to present it to lenders. Sensitive client details can be anonymized before the session.
Is this covered by my brokerage's training budget?
Many brokerages cover professional development expenses for their agents. We can provide a receipt and course description that works for most brokerage expense submissions. Check with your broker of record — most are happy to support coaching that directly improves agent production.
Still have a question?
We're happy to talk through whether coaching is right for you before you book your first session.
